The Role
We\\\’re recruiting a Careers Advisor to join the Northamptonshire delivery team. You\\\’ll provide high-quality careers information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to adults across a range of community locations – including Jobcentres, partner organisations, and education providers.
You\\\’ll use your knowledge of local labour market trends to help individuals understand their options, make informed career decisions, and progress into learning or work. This is a varied, rewarding role where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities
- Delivering both group sessions and 1:1 guidance to adults, covering topics such as employability, upskilling, and education pathways.
- Promoting the service to local partners and organisations to increase referrals.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders including Jobcentre Plus, training providers, colleges, and community organisations.
- Supporting contract performance targets by helping individuals achieve positive learning and job outcomes.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with DfE, Ofsted, and Matrix quality standards.
- Using labour market information to inform delivery and inspire customers.
What We\’re Looking For
- Experience providing careers information, advice and guidance, or working in employability, training, or FE.
- A proactive and engaging communication style confident delivering group sessions.
- Knowledge of local employment opportunities and education pathways.
- Flexibility, creativity, and resilience in a target-driven environment.
- A driving licence and access to a car (travel expenses paid at 45p per mile).
- Level 4 or Level 6 IAG qualification is desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
