About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established supported employment charity for an Apprenticeship Programme Lead to oversee and develop a specialist apprenticeship programme supporting young people with learning disabilities and autism. This is a pivotal role, combining hands-on programme delivery with strategic development, ensuring apprentices are supported into meaningful employment and successfully complete their apprenticeship journeys across East Sussex. The programme is currently part-funded by the National Lottery, with a clear remit to grow into a financially and operationally sustainable model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver a supported apprenticeship programme, achieving 24 apprenticeship starts by June 2027
  • Provide strategic leadership to shape and grow the programme for long-term sustainability
  • Build strong partnerships with employers, training providers, funders and local stakeholders
  • Manage and support a small delivery team, including a Team Co-ordinator and Job Coaches
  • Oversee programme quality, outcomes and reporting
  • Support employers to meet safeguarding expectations, working closely with internal employer engagement and training leads
  • Ensure young people receive tailored, high-quality support throughout their apprenticeship journey

Working Arrangements

Based primarily at an East Sussex office, with regular travel to employer sites. Services operate across a wide geographical area, so flexibility to travel is essential. Core hours are Monday-Friday, with occasional early morning, evening or weekend work by agreement to meet learner and employer needs.
