Our client is a unique, friendly, not-for-profit charity that provides a home for our veterans, a place where our residents always come first. A multi-disciplinary and enthusiastic team provides a variety of care for veterans, including holistic services, dementia care, general nursing, and residential needs, on one recently rebuilt state-of-the-art site. A unique approach is an inspiring vision to enable and empower the armed forces community to live with dignity and independence in life after service.
About the role
We are currently recruiting a registered general nurse to work at night to provide effective and accountable nursing care and ensure the welfare and safety of all residents of Broughton House.
- Hours - 36 hours
- To comply with and practice within the NMC's professional code of conduct.
- Lead the nursing and care team while ensuring that the nursing and personnel care of all residents is maintained daily to the highest standards and according to individual needs and capabilities.
- To ensure that at all times residents are treated with respect and dignity and actively promote and encourage as much personal independence and choice as possible in the activities of daily living undertaken by the residents within Broughton House.
- Assist in the management and organization of work as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times, while providing support for junior staff in the home.
- Participate in the quality assurance approach to clinical governance and safe and effective care.
- Act as the charity's representative on site, promoting the charity's image and ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations regarding care homes.
About you
- Must be an RGN
- Valid NMC pin.
- Ability to provide intense supervision and/or people management skills to allocate staff to the different areas of the home as well as to delegate tasks as required.
- Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary professionals as required.
- Be computer literate and willing to learn new case and medication management software.
- Some are meticulous in their attention to detail and can meet deadlines.
- Enjoy working with elderly residents who may present with dementia and various health problems.
- You must have kindness by the bucketload, empathy, sensitivity, and, of course, a sense of humor.
