Are you an experienced Learning Management System (LMS) specialist with a passion for digital learning and platform innovation? This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on a national training provider’s award-winning LMS platform, supporting thousands of users across the UK.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior LMS Administrator to oversee the ongoing development, optimisation, and daily management of a large-scale LMS powered by Moodle Workplace. This platform currently supports over 25,000 users and continues to grow as a central pillar of the organisation’s digital learning strategy.
You’ll be the subject matter expert for all things LMS – from backend configuration and content management to user support and system integration. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the learner and staff experience while driving innovation in digital training delivery.
What you'll be doing?
- Lead the day-to-day operation, configuration, and maintenance of the LMS
- Manage platform setup, enrolment workflows, roles/permissions, and plugins
- Provide first-line support for internal teams, including trainers and assessors
- Deliver onboarding and training materials to support user engagement
- Maintain and structure learning content (e.g. SCORM, H5P, CPD modules)
- Monitor data/reporting to track learner engagement and platform performance
- Collaborate with digital and curriculum leads to inform strategy and reporting (e.g. via Power BI)
- Ensure compliance with data protection (GDPR), accessibility, and internal standards
- Stay up to date with EdTech trends and LMS innovation
What we're looking for?
- Strong experience managing LMS platforms, ideally Moodle or Moodle Workplace
- Confidence using learning standards such as SCORM, LTI, xAPI
- Experience with HTML/CSS for platform customisation
- A solid grasp of eLearning tools like H5P, Articulate or Evolve
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving and user engagement
- Ability to manage competing deadlines while ensuring platform reliability
It would be great if you also have:
- Moodle/Moodle Workplace certification
- Experience in apprenticeship or vocational training environments
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar dashboard/reporting tools
- Understanding of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG 2.2) and digital quality frameworks
- Any professional digital learning accreditations (e.g. CMALT, Digital Learning Institute)
