A brand-new AM2 Assessment Centre is being launched in Norwich, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrician to step into a rewarding role within the training and assessment sector. This is an ideal move for someone looking to come off the tools while still staying closely connected to the electrical industry and supporting the next generation of electricians entering the trade. You do not need previous assessing experience to be considered. Full assessor & NET accreditation can be provided for the right individual.
You’ll play a key role in the setup, delivery and day-to-day running of a modern AM2 assessment facility, supporting apprentices through the final stage of their Electrical Installation apprenticeship. Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting and overseeing AM2 assessments
- Supporting candidates throughout the assessment process
- Ensuring assessments are delivered in line with NET requirements
- Managing assessment schedules and workshop operations
- Maintaining tools, equipment and assessment bays
- Supporting quality assurance and compliance processes
- Working closely with employers, apprentices and training teams
- Helping shape and develop a brand-new assessment centre
This is a hands-on role where your industry experience and practical knowledge will be highly valued.
We’re keen to speak with experienced electricians who have strong occupational competence and want to transition into training and assessment. Minimum requirements:
- ECS/JIB Gold Card
- Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- 2391 (or willingness to work towards)
- Strong practical electrical installation experience
The following would be advantageous, but not essential:
- Assessing or teaching experience
- Experience mentoring apprentices or junior electricians
