FIND are delighted to be supporting a leading Lancashire based Training Provider to hire a Maths Tutor to deliver on their study programmes courses.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Maths Tutor to join a top-quality training provider with a proven track record in the Training and Development sector.
Based from Accrington with some travel to the Bury and Oldham sites, the successful candidate will deliver Functional Skills Maths up to level 2 to groups of learners.
Job Purpose
To support Study Programme students throughout their time on programme by delivering high quality maths lessons to enable them to develop their skills and achieve qualifications in order to progress onto the next steps in their development.
Key Duties
- Deliver high quality maths sessions for learners across the Study Programme, and promote the development of digital skills.
- Be involved in preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and related resources as required, mapping all relevant documentation to the Subject Content Statements.
- Enable learners to develop their maths skills by ensuring that all work is marked, and constructive feedback is given.
- Track progress of learners and ensure catch up plans are in place when necessary.
- Carry out assessments (entry level) as per the requirements of the awarding organisation.
- Maintain communication with all parties involved with the learners eg Study Programme Tutor and Work Experience Officer.
- Adhere to the observation schedule and ensure that observations are carried out on time. Also, to reflect on feedback and complete actions.
Applicants Must Have
- A recognised teaching qualification eg CertED, PGCE, CTLLS, DTLLS
- Minimum level 2 qualification in maths
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of the Functional Skills Subject Content.
- Previous experience of delivering Functional Skills qualifications.
- Level 4/5 Subject Specialism in maths
- A knowledge of Study Programme and JCP
