We’re on the lookout for an Employability Skills Tutor to support with delivery of Employability & Life Skills ahead of release from the prison environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage delivery of Life & Employability to participants looking to gain employment & skills ahead of release.
- Deliver high-quality classes adapting to various learning styles and needs to suit small groups of learners.
- Ensure inclusive teaching strategies are embedded across the team.
- Promote a positive learning environment that supports engagement, wellbeing, and progress.
- Develop and implement effective schemes of work and curriculum planning tailored to individual learner needs.
- Provide support of safeguarding measures.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning standards, carrying out observations and learning walks.
- Track learner progress, outcomes, and achievement rates against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with awarding bodies, funding requirements & MOJ policies.
Candidates must be comfortable with working in the Prison/ Custody Setting 5 days a week!
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Recognised teaching or assessing qualifications (e.g. A1, TAQA, CAVA, D32/33 PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, PTTLS)
- Level 2 or above qualification in English and Maths.
- Proven experience delivering Life & Employability Skills – supporting learners with ALN’s.
Salary up to £27,500 + additional benefits.
