Location: Home-based with travel across the Medway area

Salary: Up to £39,250 (depending on experience)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced electrician looking for a new challenge away from the tools? Or already working as an Electrical Assessor, Trainer or Training Officer and looking for a fresh opportunity? This role is ideal for both:

  • Qualified electricians wanting to transition off the tools
  • Existing trainers/assessors

You will play a key role in developing the next generation of electricians - supporting apprentices throughout their journey, from onboarding through to End Point Assessment.

What You Will Be Doing

As an Electrical Training Officer / Apprenticeship Coach, you will manage a caseload of electrical apprentices and support them through their learning journey. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting a caseload of apprentices in the workplace
  • Carrying out regular reviews, assessments, and progress tracking
  • Assessing evidence against industry standards (NVQ / NOS)
  • Providing clear feedback, coaching, and setting SMART targets
  • Preparing apprentices for gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Identifying learners at risk and putting support plans in place
  • Working closely with employers to ensure high-quality training delivery
  • Supporting apprentice recruitment and onboarding where required
  • Promoting apprenticeship opportunities to employers, schools, and stakeholders
  • Ensuring safeguarding, Prevent, and compliance standards are met

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • Strong hands-on industry experience as a qualified electrician
  • 18th Edition (or willingness to obtain)
  • GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)

Desirable:

  • Assessor qualification (A1, D32/D33, TAQA)
  • 2391 Testing & Inspection
  • IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification
  • Experience working with apprentices or training delivery
