We’re representing an Ofsted recognised Good provider, with just under 10,000 apprentices on program.

Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor – North East & Yorkshire

Location: Home based with regional travel to Hull, York, South Yorkshire & Tyneside)

We’re seeking an experienced Functional Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality Maths, English, and some ICT provision to apprentices across the North East and Yorkshire region. This is a hybrid role combining face-to-face delivery at regional centres (Hull, York, South Yorkshire, Tyneside) with remote learning.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Functional Skills lessons (both classroom and online)
  • Support apprentices to achieve Maths, English, and ICT qualifications in line with awarding body standards
  • Manage a caseload of learners, tracking and reporting on progress
  • Use online learning tools, LMS systems, and e-portfolios to enhance delivery
  • Assist with exam bookings, invigilation, and assessment activities
  • Contribute to resource development and share best practice to improve provision

What we’re looking for:

  • GCSE/O Level (C/4+) in Maths & English or Level 3 equivalent
  • Level 5 Diploma in Teaching with specialist Literacy or Numeracy pathway (or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills in a post-16 environment
  • Confident with BKSB, online learning platforms, and remote delivery tools
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • QTS/QTLS status
