Are you an experienced Functional Skills Maths Tutor looking for a fully remote role with a supportive apprenticeship provider? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established national training provider for a Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody passionate about supporting learners to achieve their Functional Skills qualifications within apprenticeship programmes.
The role is initially offered as a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave, however there is potential for the role to become permanent.
The Role
- You will primarily deliver Functional Skills Maths up to Level 2 to apprenticeship learners within Business Services programmes.
- There may also be some lower-level English delivery required, particularly supporting learners with additional barriers to learning.
- Delivery will initially focus on 1:1 remote sessions before transitioning into more group-based online delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Functional Skills Maths sessions up to Level 2.
- Support apprenticeship learners remotely via Teams/online platforms.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learner needs.
- Deliver both 1:1 and group teaching sessions.
- Track learner progress and provide ongoing support.
- Motivate and engage learners to achieve timely completions.
- Maintain accurate learner records and documentation.
- Support learners with barriers to learning and low confidence.
What We're Looking For
- Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths up to Level 2.
- Teaching qualification such as AET, CET, PGCE or equivalent.
- Experience working within apprenticeships, FE or work-based learning.
- Confident delivering remote teaching sessions.
- Strong learner engagement and motivational skills.
- Organised and able to manage own caseload effectively.
Desirable
- Functional Skills English delivery experience.
- Experience supporting learners with SEND/ALN or barriers to learning.
- Experience delivering group online sessions.
