We’re partnering with a growing specialist financial services consultancy to hire a Financial Crime Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant, or a high-performing Senior Consultant ready to step up, to take greater ownership of projects and build trusted relationships with a varied client base.

The role involves leading small and medium-sized financial crime engagements from initial scoping through to completion, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. Your work will span a broad range of areas, including:

  • Advising clients on anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, anti-bribery, fraud, sanctions and tax evasion requirements
  • Supporting FCA registrations for money laundering oversight
  • Developing policies, procedures and financial crime control frameworks
  • Advising on financial crime technology and tools
  • Leading transformation and remediation projects
  • Conducting AML audits and control testing, including Travel Rule implementation
  • Applying regulation pragmatically across different client business models
  • Supporting the development of services for crypto and digital asset firms
  • Coaching and developing junior consultants

You’ll work with clients across payments, fintech, digital assets and more traditional financial services. Experience with Annex I firms would be particularly valuable.

This is not a traditional sales role, and you won’t be expected to originate business through cold outreach. Commercial awareness is important, however: you should be able to identify opportunities, deliver work that leads to repeat engagements and confidently represent the consultancy at industry events.

About you: You’ll ideally bring recent financial crime experience gained within a consultancy or financial services environment, strong knowledge of UK money laundering regulations and the ability to apply them to different business models, experience managing projects from start to finish, exposure to developing or supporting junior colleagues, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the confidence to build credible, trusted relationships with senior clients, a practical, risk-based and commercially aware approach, and the ability to manage several priorities and work effectively under pressure. Consultancy experience is preferred. You may already be operating at Manager level, or you could be a Senior Consultant who has not yet had the opportunity to step up.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude: curious, collaborative and willing to roll up their sleeves. You’ll take ownership of problems, work out the answer when it isn’t immediately obvious and remain adaptable as regulations and client needs evolve.
