About the role
We’re looking for a Compliance Director who can take ownership of the regulatory journey — from strategy and governance through to day‑to‑day oversight, implementation, and engagement with the FCA.
Responsibilities
- Lead the compliance and regulatory affairs function as the business transitions from payments (EMI) to investment services under MiFID II.
- Define and implement a robust Compliance Monitoring Programme, ensuring ongoing oversight of conduct, operational, and prudential risks.
- Manage and develop a small but very capable, junior team.
- Act as the main liaison with the FCA — overseeing authorisation submissions, regulatory engagement, and ongoing supervision.
- Shape and embed the compliance strategy, frameworks, and policies across payments, trading, and client money operations.
- Partner closely with the leadership team to align commercial growth with regulatory expectations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience at a senior compliance level within an FCA-regulated firm — must have MiFID experience. Payments and FX products desirable.
- A track record of building or scaling compliance frameworks in high-growth fintech or payments environments.
