Are you an experienced Compliance professional with a strong understanding of regulatory change and horizon scanning? Do you enjoy interpreting new regulations, advising stakeholders, and driving regulatory change across a business?

Our client, a well-established International Bank based in London, is looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join their Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the bank remains ahead of the evolving regulatory landscape while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

The Role

As the Compliance Officer, you will take ownership of the bank's Horizon Scanning and Regulatory Advisory activities. You'll monitor upcoming regulatory developments, assess their impact on the business, and work with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate actions are identified and delivered. This is a highly visible role requiring excellent regulatory knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple business areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging industry changes that may impact the bank.
  • Analyse new regulations and determine their practical implications for the business.
  • Produce clear regulatory impact assessments and supporting documentation.
  • Engage with department heads and senior stakeholders to explain regulatory changes and provide practical compliance advice.
  • Develop implementation plans and timelines to ensure regulatory changes are delivered effectively.
  • Track progress of regulatory initiatives through to completion.
  • Support wider Compliance activities, including:
    • SMCR-related responsibilities
    • Management Information (MI) gathering and reporting
    • General day-to-day Compliance support as required.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Previous Compliance experience within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong experience in Horizon Scanning, Regulatory Change, or Regulatory Advisory.
  • A solid understanding of UK financial services regulation and the evolving regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
  • Experience producing regulatory documentation and impact assessments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage and advise senior business leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
