An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced operations leader to join a dynamic, FCA/PRA-regulated banking environment at Executive Committee level.

This is a pivotal role responsible for shaping and delivering the operational strategy across a broad remit including IT, cybersecurity, payments, customer operations, outsourcing, fraud, and operational resilience. You’ll play a key role in driving transformation, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring robust governance while supporting the organisation’s growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver the overall operations and technology strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, digital platforms, cybersecurity, and systems performance
  • Drive operational resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery frameworks
  • Manage payment operations (Faster Payments, CHAPS, BACS) and ensure accuracy across reconciliations and settlements
  • Lead fraud prevention and transaction monitoring activities
  • Own supplier and outsourcing relationships, ensuring performance and compliance
  • Deliver large-scale transformation and systems integration programmes
  • Ensure full compliance with UK regulatory frameworks (FCA, PRA, GDPR, Consumer Duty)
  • Provide strategic insight and reporting at Executive Committee level
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams

About You:

  • Proven senior leadership experience within a UK bank, building society, or FCA regulated financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, payments, KYC/AML, and customer servicing
  • Deep understanding of UK regulatory requirements including operational resilience frameworks
  • Track record of delivering operational transformation and technology change
  • Experienced in managing third-party providers and complex supplier landscapes
  • Confident influencing at Board and regulator level
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach
