We are looking for a dynamic, talented paralegal to join our growing team. Reporting to our Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in supporting our legal department. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual with a desire to contribute to FINBOURNE's growth and success. This will be a varied and challenging position with a focus on corporate and commercial matters, including but not limited to:

  • Providing general legal support, advice and guidance to internal teams and ExCo
  • Drafting, review and negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts and licences
  • Assisting the legal team on various corporate matters including corporate records and filings

Key responsibilities:

  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts with clients and vendors (including NDAs, Vendor Agreements and Consultancy Agreements)
  • Assist with corporate work including company secretarial and international expansion
  • Research, monitor and advise on compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks
  • Assist with matters relating to data privacy and security, including GDPR compliance, data breach response, and vendor due diligence
  • Assist with ad hoc projects
  • Work with external legal counsel as and when appropriate to ensure third party advice is always sought in the best and most efficient manner
  • General legal support to the legal department, including organisational and administrative tasks

What skills, experience and qualifications we require:

  • Legal background with either LLB, GDL, SQE or CILEX qualification
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage a high volume of work
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently
  • High level of written and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be open-minded and willing to accept new challenges
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • No legal work experience is necessary, but experience working in a business (in any capacity) is highly valued
  • Fluency in English

It is important to note that while we are passionate about developing our staff, we are not able to offer a Solicitors’ Training Contract currently.
