The Opportunity
Finatal is working with a sought after European Private Credit fund looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the investment team. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that offers exposure across the full investment lifecycle — from deal evaluation and structure through to ongoing asset management and exit.
Responsibilities
- Support execution of new investments originated by senior team members
- Lead detailed financial and commercial due diligence
- Coordinate deal structuring and JV arrangements, including cap stack design (equity and debt)
- Build and maintain advanced financial models, including sensitivities and scenario analysis
- Interface with tax advisers and legal counsel to align deal structures with regulatory, tax and operational requirements
- Draft and review key documentation (SPAs, CP lists, term sheets, closing deliverables)
- Prepare high-quality investment materials for the Investment Committee
- Oversee execution workflows, approvals, closing steps and checklists
- Work with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, asset management) and external partners to support ongoing management of portfolio companies
- Build strong relationships with operating partners and management teams to help execute business plans
- Manage the realization of maturing investments, ensuring value is maximised and exits are executed efficiently
- Support broker dialogue and exit preparation (including IC materials and data room management)
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in Private Credit or at a Hedge Fund
- Proven experience in deal structuring and underwriting
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Familiarity with European tax and legal frameworks
- Able to manage multiple deals at different stages, juggling timelines and priorities
- Highly organised with excellent project management capabilities
- Strong communicator and confident team player — able to take initiative and operate independently
- Additional European language (particularly German) is a strong advantage
- Excellent analytical modelling and written communication skills
- Highly attentive to detail and accuracy
- Ability to engage and challenge stakeholders constructively
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build internal and external relationships
- Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
