We are supporting a large, established software business that is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Controller / Senior Accountant for an initial 6-month contract. The role will work closely with and support the Group Financial Controller, providing hands‑on support across Group accounting, reporting and financial control.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the GFC across month‑end, management reporting and financial control activities.
- Own and review key areas of the Group accounting and reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Support balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany accounting.
- Assist with Group reporting and consolidation across a large, complex organisation.
- Work closely with wider finance teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
- Support audit, statutory reporting and year‑end activities as required.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve reporting and streamline accounting processes.
Ideal background:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent.
- Strong financial accounting / Financial Controller experience within a large or complex business.
- Previous experience within a software / SaaS environment strongly preferred.
- Comfortable operating in a hands‑on interim capacity and supporting a senior finance leader.
- Strong technical accounting, reporting and financial control experience.
- Available to start quickly and able to work in a Southampton‑based hybrid environment.
