We are partnering with a £50m turnover manufacturing business preparing for a forthcoming strategic event and requiring additional financial leadership to professionalise the finance function. The organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen controls, improve reporting, and ensure the business is operating with the rigour expected ahead of a strategic event taking place within the next 6-months.

This role will work closely with the CFO, senior leadership team, and external advisors to enhance financial readiness and drive improvements across core finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and enhance month-end, reporting, and financial control processes
• Improve balance sheet discipline, reconciliations, and documentation
• Strengthen financial governance, policies, and systems ahead of the strategic event
• Produce high-quality MI, KPIs, and board reporting for internal and external stakeholders
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Prepare the business for diligence by improving data quality, controls, and reporting hygiene
• Provide leadership to the finance team and uplift capability where needed

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong experience as a Financial Controller
• Manufacturing sector exposure essential or highly advantageous
• Proven ability to professionalise finance teams and improve reporting at pace
• Experience preparing businesses for exit, refinance, or similar strategic events
• Strong technical grounding, excellent controls mindset, and hands-on approach
• Available immediately or at short notice
