Finatal is working with a leading and established mid-market private equity fund to recruit a Portfolio Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity for an operational leader to join a high-performing team known for driving transformative value across its portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with management teams to lead value creation initiatives, particularly in turnaround and restructuring scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of value creation plans across portfolio companies in line with the investment strategy.
  • Drive operational improvement initiatives including turnaround strategies, cost optimisation, and organisational restructuring.
  • Partner with senior leadership teams to identify and implement performance improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor portfolio performance through KPIs, dashboards, and business review cycles.
  • Support pre-deal operational due diligence and early post-deal integration planning when required.

Requirements:

  • Strong operational background with experience in turnaround, restructuring, or transformation (e.g., from PE-backed businesses, Big 4 TS/Restructuring, or top-tier consulting with an ops focus).
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable value creation in complex or underperforming environments.
  • Commercial and strategic mindset with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working with or within private equity-backed businesses is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build credibility quickly with senior management teams.
