A PE backed, mid-market, services business requires an interim Operational Excellence Lead / Strategy Consultant to undertake the following critical position.
Job Specification
- Work alongside departmental heads across the business to map end‐to‐end processes such as customer onboarding, product/services/tech installation, invoicing, and supplier management.
- Diagnose operational bottlenecks, control gaps and failure points using data, stakeholder interviews.
- Design and document future‐state processes, KPIs and controls, applying consulting‐grade methods (Lean, Six Sigma, process mapping, RACI) in a pragmatic, business‐friendly way.
- Build business cases for proposed changes, quantifying impact on cost, service levels, SLAs, customer satisfaction, and present recommendations to ExCo and PE.
- Plan the implementation of agreed initiatives.
Person Specification
- Background in top‐tier management consulting with a focus on operations improvement or senior operational experience in a business services company.
- Strong preference for prior experience of services businesses where products, technology, or services are installed for clients or on client sites.
- Proven track record of hands‐on process improvement across multiple functions, ideally in process intensive environments.
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
- Credible and collaborative with operational leaders: comfortable spending time on the floor and influencing without direct line authority.
- Practical change management skills and able to create clear process documentation and plans.
