Finatal is partnering with an award-winning, privately held operating group focused on acquiring and building exceptional UK businesses. The firm operates across multiple sectors including healthcare, construction, and property.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth, entrepreneurial investment platform and take ownership of acquisition and investment workstreams. The role offers broad exposure across investment evaluation, transaction execution and portfolio value creation within a hands-on, commercially focused environment.
The position will focus on independently assessing opportunities, leading due diligence, coordinating advisers, reviewing transaction documentation and making clear recommendations on valuation, risk and transaction structure. The successful candidate will also support strategic growth initiatives across the portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Assess acquisition and investment opportunities from initial review through to completion
- Analyse management presentations, financial information and diligence materials
- Build and review integrated financial models, including downside, base case and upside scenarios
- Develop independent views on valuation, sustainable EBITDA, cash generation, financing implications and investment returns
- Identify key investment risks and value creation opportunities, challenging management assumptions and forecasts
- Prepare high-quality investment recommendations, briefing materials and presentations for senior stakeholders
- Lead due diligence processes across commercial, financial, tax, legal and operational workstreams
- Coordinate external advisers and manage transaction processes, timelines and information requests
- Review diligence findings, SPAs and other transaction documentation from a commercial perspective
- Assess management incentive arrangements, equity structures and governance rights
- Support transaction negotiations and execution through to completion
- Support portfolio value creation initiatives, expansion opportunities, partnerships and new service lines
- Prepare board and investor materials and provide ad hoc strategic analysis
Requirements:
- 5-8+ years of relevant transaction and investing experience, typically gained through investment banking, corporate finance or transaction services followed by private equity, or through direct private equity or principal investing experience
- Current or former Investment Manager, Vice President, Associate Director or equivalent
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skillset
- Proven experience evaluating and executing acquisitions
- Strong understanding of transaction structures, investor economics and commercial deal documentation
- Experience working with legal, accounting and commercial advisers
- Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple workstreams
- Commercially minded, with the ability to identify risks, challenge assumptions and make clear recommendations
- Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
- Lower mid-market or mid-market private equity experience is advantageous
- Healthcare services, industrials or real estate experience is advantageousHigh attention to detail, intellectual curiosity and strong problem-solving capability
