We are supporting a large-cap, Private Equity-backed business (c. £500m turnover) in the appointment of an experienced Interim Financial Reporting Consultant to support the business through a critical phase of IPO or exit preparation. This role requires a high-calibre reporting specialist with proven Private Equity experience and a strong track record operating in large, complex organisations. The consultant will work across both external and internal reporting, partnering closely with senior finance leadership and external advisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead external financial reporting, including statutory accounts and transaction-related disclosures
  • Own and enhance internal reporting, including management accounts and board-level reporting packs
  • Ensure all reporting is IPO / exit-ready, robust, and compliant with relevant accounting standards
  • Act as a key point of contact for auditors, PE stakeholders, and external advisors
  • Support the development of a best-in-class control and governance framework
  • Review and improve financial reporting processes, policies, and documentation
  • Provide ad-hoc technical accounting support related to the transaction process

Mandatory:

  • Proven Private Equity experience within PE-backed businesses
  • Large-cap experience essential, ideally within organisations of £300m+ turnover
  • Strong background in both external and internal financial reporting
  • Experience supporting IPO readiness, exits, or complex PE transactions
  • Deep technical accounting expertise (IFRS / UK GAAP)
  • Able to operate autonomously and add value immediately in an interim consulting capacity
