Finatal has partnered with a fast-growing technology company building a platform that helps investors understand and measure the social and environmental impact of their portfolios. Their mission is to support more sustainable decision-making across global capital markets.
We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to help scale their product and team during an exciting growth phase. This role blends technical leadership with people management. You will stay close to the code while creating the environment for engineers to do great work.
What you will do:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small, high-performing engineering team
- Balance hands-on engineering with delivery, planning, and team leadership
- Contribute directly to the codebase, particularly across data pipelines and data infrastructure
- Guide architectural decisions and improve engineering practices, tooling, and reliability
- Work closely with product and business stakeholders to deliver against the roadmap
- Embed security, quality, and operational best practices into development
What we are looking for:
- Several years of software engineering experience, ideally with data-intensive systems
- Strong experience with Python is imperative as well as experience with modern data workflows (ETL/ELT, pipelines) and a strong understanding of SQL (Ideally SQL Alchemy)
- Experience with Frontend Development and DevOps best practices would be useful but not a must have.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP), containers, and modern infrastructure
- Prior experience leading or managing engineers
- Clear communicator, comfortable navigating trade-offs and ambiguity
- Passion for building high-quality software and growing people
