Finatal is partnering with a leading mid-market private equity and private credit investment firm to appoint a Director and Head of Financial Services Platform. This is a unique opportunity to lead value creation across a portfolio of financial services investments, combining operational leadership, structured finance expertise, and strategic execution to build and scale high-growth platform businesses.
Working closely with senior Partners and management teams, you will drive commercial performance, capital strategy, acquisitions, and operational improvement across the portfolio, while helping shape the firm's broader platform strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead value creation across the firm's financial services platform investments
- Partner with management teams to deliver strategic, operational, and commercial improvement initiatives
- Identify and execute buy-and-build opportunities, including add-on acquisitions and integration
- Structure and oversee funding solutions, including acquisition finance, asset-backed facilities, and refinancing initiatives
- Monitor platform performance, establishing KPIs, governance frameworks, and value creation plans
- Lead turnaround and performance improvement initiatives where required
- Manage covenant compliance, borrower reporting, and financing relationships across the portfolio
- Prepare investment committee materials and portfolio performance reporting
- Build and develop the Platforms function, mentoring team members and contributing to investment strategy
- Support exit planning, due diligence, and investor readiness across portfolio companies
Requirements
- 12+ years' experience across private equity, private credit, structured finance, asset management, or financial services
- Deep expertise in structured finance, asset-backed lending, acquisition finance, or related capital structures
- Proven track record of driving value creation within portfolio companies or operating businesses
- Experience leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders, including executive management and boards
- Strong commercial judgement with excellent analytical and strategic problem-solving skills
- Experience across buy-and-build strategies or platform businesses is advantageous
- ACA, ACCA, CFA, MBA, or a similar qualification is welcomed but not essential
