About the Role

We are supporting a private equity-backed energy and environmental consultancy with the appointment of an interim FP&A Analyst to strengthen the finance team during a period of continued growth and strategic focus. The business operates internationally, delivering advisory and technical consulting services across the energy transition, infrastructure, and environmental sectors. Backed by private equity, the organisation is focused on scaling operations, improving financial visibility, and strengthening commercial insight across the group.

This role has been created to support increased reporting and forecasting requirements following recent growth and to enhance the quality of financial analysis provided to senior leadership and investors. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of FP&A and CFO to support budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of monthly management reporting, providing analysis and commentary on business performance
  • Assist with budgeting and reforecasting processes across multiple service lines and geographies
  • Develop financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making
  • Analyse revenue, utilisation, and project profitability across consulting teams
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide insight into financial performance and key drivers
  • Support preparation of board and investor reporting materials for the private equity sponsor
  • Track key performance indicators and provide variance analysis against budget and forecast
  • Assist with improving financial planning processes, reporting tools, and data visibility
  • Support ad hoc analysis relating to growth initiatives, new service lines, or acquisitions

Requirements

  • Previous experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or financial analysis within a professional services or consulting environment
  • Experience working within a private equity-backed or high-growth business is highly desirable
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
  • Ability to translate financial data into clear commercial insight for non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with operational teams
  • Available immediately or at short notice
