Job Description Title: Commercial Finance Director Compensation: £120-150k (dependent on experience level), plus bonus and equity Location: London MT61936 Position Overview: Finatal is supporting a highly acquisitive, PE backed wealth manager seeking a Commercial Finance Director to lead their finance operations and partner strategically with the executive team, board, and private equity stakeholders. This critical role will drive financial insight and oversight, support M&A and integration activities, and improve EBITDA as they pursue their aggressive buy-and-build strategy. Key Responsibilities: Partner closely with the executive team to shape and execute the company’s financial strategy, aligning it with broader business objectives and growth targets. Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis to drive profitability, optimise resource allocation, and identify growth opportunities within existing and newly acquired entities. Lead financial due diligence, valuation assessments, and integration planning to support acquisition activity; work closely with private equity partners to ensure alignment with investment strategy. Develop KPIs and reporting tools to provide actionable insights and accountability across the business; manage and improve the financial performance of individual business units within the group. Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO, CEO, board, and private equity stakeholders; communicate financial performance, strategy, and risk in clear, actionable terms. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting to enhance efficiency, transparency, and scalability. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team capable of supporting the company’s growth objectives and ensuring rigorous financial discipline. Qualifications & Experience: ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification, or equivalent 5+ years in a similar role within a wealth management or financial services business, ideally in a private equity-backed environment. Proven track record of supporting buy-and-build strategies, including M&A transactions, financial integration, and managing post-acquisition performance. Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights that drive action. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of building relationships with private equity investors, board members, and cross-functional leaders.
