Location: UK-based | flexible location with regular travel across the SE and NW of England

We’re partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed financial services group entering its next phase of scale. This is not a “steady‑state” HR role. It’s a hands‑on, high‑impact HR Manager position designed to work closely with — and share responsibility alongside — the CPO. You can be based anywhere in the UK, but you’ll need to travel regularly to Carlisle to stay close to the business and leadership team.

The Opportunity

The group has grown quickly. Now it needs stronger infrastructure, sharper processes, and a confident HR operator who enjoys the detail as much as the strategy. You’ll operate as a true generalist — spanning operational HR, employment law, talent acquisition, and process improvement — while helping professionalise the people function in a PE environment. This is ideal for someone who wants breadth, ownership, and visibility in a scaling platform.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partnering with the CPO to deliver the people agenda across the group
  • Acting as a trusted HR lead for managers across multiple sites
  • Owning employee relations and employment law matters end‑to‑end
  • Supporting and improving talent acquisition processes
  • Reviewing and upgrading HR policies and documentation
  • Strengthening onboarding, performance management, and core HR processes
  • Driving consistency and best practice across the organisation
  • Rolling up your sleeves where needed — this is a build environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a broad, generalist HR role
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law (essential)
  • Comfortable handling the “nitty gritty” — ER cases, policies, compliance, documentation
  • Experience in a scaling or change environment
  • Confident, pragmatic, and commercially aware
  • Happy to travel to Carlisle regularly
  • Financial services experience is not required. We’re more interested in capability, resilience, and hands‑on experience in complex people environments.

Why This Role?

  • Direct exposure to the CPO and senior leadership
  • Real influence in a growing, PE‑backed platform
  • Broad scope across strategy and execution
  • Flexibility on location

If you’re an HR generalist who enjoys building, improving, and taking ownership — and you’re looking for more scope and visibility — this could be a strong next step.
