Do you have passion for Underwriting and want to Underwrite the markets leading multi-line facility?

Aon Client Treaty (ACT) is AUM\’s flagship facility and writes 19 different lines of business from Property to Marine to D&O and Product Recall. A role in Underwriting team will give a junior Underwriter the opportunity to write 19 lines gaining invaluable experience that is unique in the market, building relationships with a wide variety of broking teams to ensure Aon\’s client needs are met.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chelmsford office.

Aon Underwriting Managers

AUM undertakes underwriting and claims handling services on behalf of insurers and delivers expertise in specific product ranges or trade sectors. AUM focuses on commercial insurance products across Accident and Health, Property and Casualty, Financial Lines and Marine sectors. AUM fulfils many of the roles of an insurance company – underwrites (evaluates the risks and exposures of potential clients against the insurance covers), prices (determines the premium that is charged to insure that risk), issues policies, mid-term adjustments and renewals and on some facilities, manages the claims handling and settlement.

AUM has an in-depth understanding of the diverse range of solutions that we offer, and our insurance products are specially designed and unique to Aon.

What the day will look like

  • Underwriting a portfolio of multiple lines of business: Assessing, processing, and binding new and renewal business and endorsements within agreed timescales.
  • Timely completion of pre-bind and post bind administrative processes.
  • Ensuring that individual risks are processed promptly and in accordance with the Delegated Underwriting Authority.
  • Recording of risk details on a Policy Administration System in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Liaise with brokers and internal departments for risk information.
  • Building an excellent working relationship with the Global Broking Centre Team.
  • Referring risks to our insurer panel where necessary.
  • Participating in regular meetings to ensure the ongoing success and adoption of ACT.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Prior experience in an underwriting support role will be looked upon favourably.
  • Minimum A level standard (or equivalent).
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-disciplined and organised.
  • Team player.
  • High level of numeracy.
  • Computer literacy including competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional – CII or partially CII qualified would be an advantage.
