The Role

We are looking for a proactive, organised and commercially minded Marketing Executive to join the FT Specialist Events team, part of FT Live, the Financial Times' global events division. FT Specialist provides specialist insight and intelligence to professional audiences worldwide, covering sectors including asset and wealth management, financial advice, banking, economic development and investment, and corporate governance. Alongside its publications and digital products, FT Specialist delivers a growing portfolio of conferences, awards, webinars and partner events.

In this role, you will support the planning and delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns that attract high-quality audiences, drive event registrations and generate delegate revenue. Working closely with the Head of Marketing, you will handle campaigns across multiple events, from audience research and campaign planning through to execution, optimisation and performance reporting. You'll use audience insights and data to develop targeted marketing activity, create engaging content and find opportunities to reach new audiences. You'll also collaborate with colleagues across content, sales, operations, design and wider FT marketing teams to ensure our campaigns support each event's commercial objectives while attracting the relevant, senior professional audiences associated with the Financial Times. This is an opportunity to develop your marketing skills across a varied international events portfolio, contribute creative ideas and see the direct impact of your work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive event registrations, paid delegate revenue and high-quality audience acquisition across conferences, awards, webinars and partner events.
  • Coordinate marketing activity across email, organic and paid social media, digital and print advertising, partnerships and FT promotional channels.
  • Research prospective audiences, organisations and market segments to find opportunities for audience growth.
  • Develop targeted audience segments and tailor campaign messaging to different industries, seniority levels, geographical markets and audience needs.
  • Write clear, engaging and persuasive marketing copy for emails, event websites, social media and other promotional materials.
  • Monitor registrations, engagement and campaign performance, using data to optimise marketing activity and improve results.
  • Maintain event websites, registration pages and marketing content, ensuring information remains accurate, relevant and consistent with FT brand standards.
  • Work closely with content, sales and operations teams to align marketing campaigns with event programmes, speakers, sponsors and commercial objectives.
  • Brief and coordinate with FT Live's design team to produce effective marketing assets and collateral on schedule.
  • Support agreed sponsor and partner marketing activity, including promotional coordination and campaign reporting.
  • Provide audience insights, marketing materials and relevant performance data to support event sales activity.
  • Identify cross-promotional opportunities with colleagues across FT Specialist, FT Live and the wider Financial Times.
  • Track registrations, delegate revenue and campaign performance against agreed targets, providing regular updates and recommendations.
  • Produce post-event marketing analysis to evaluate channel effectiveness, audience composition and campaign results.
  • Develop an understanding of FT Specialist's markets and professional audiences, keeping informed about relevant industry, competitor and marketing trends.
  • Contribute ideas and test new approaches to improve audience acquisition, engagement and campaign effectiveness.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple campaigns in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written communication and copywriting skills, with the ability to create engaging content for different audiences and channels.
  • A high level of attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • A proactive, curious and commercially aware approach, with the confidence to take ownership of activities and suggest improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in using data to evaluate performance and inform decisions.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across different teams.
  • Adaptability and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, particularly spreadsheets and presentation tools.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in marketing, particularly within events, media, publishing, financial services or B2B environments.
  • Experience supporting or delivering digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing and organic or paid social media.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, event registration tools or marketing automation software.
  • An understanding of audience segmentation, database marketing and campaign performance metrics.
  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification in marketing, business or a related field is beneficial but not essential.
