The Role / Position Overview

Financial Times Live (FT Live) is the conferences and events division of the Financial Times and its group publications. Our mission is to bring global executive audiences the latest knowledge and opinion while creating opportunities for them to connect with one another.

FT Specialist comprises 17 brands serving niche professional audiences with information that helps them make better decisions and operate more effectively. Its portfolio includes brands such as The Banker, Investors’ Chronicle, fDi, FTAdviser, PWM and Pensions Expert.

We are looking for an event marketing professional to work closely with the Senior Marketing and Project Manager to plan and deliver targeted, integrated marketing campaigns across the FT Specialist events portfolio.

You will help grow and engage our audiences, driving high-quality delegate registrations while increasing awareness of FT Specialist events. Working across print and digital channels, you will build on existing audience relationships, identify new opportunities for growth and help ensure our events attract the quality and seniority of delegates expected from the FT brand.

As part of the FT Specialist events team, you will support campaigns across the full event lifecycle. This includes building and maintaining event websites, briefing creative assets, delivering email, social, print and digital activity, handling relevant client communications, identifying prospective delegates and analysing campaign performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Marketing and Project Manager to plan, implement, handle and analyse event marketing campaigns across the FT Specialist portfolio.
  • Support the delivery of weekly, monthly and annual delegate registration targets.
  • Collaborate with editorial, content, design, operations and commercial colleagues to develop compelling event propositions, formats and audience strategies.
  • Brief creative artwork and promotional collateral with a strong focus on accuracy, quality and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate event marketing campaigns across email, social, print and digital channels.
  • Build, update and maintain event websites and associated campaign content.
  • Handle audience and consumer data sensitively and in accordance with relevant data protection requirements, including GDPR where applicable.
  • Use existing and new audience data to develop targeted delegate segments and identify prospective attendees.
  • Manage sponsor or client communications where appropriate.
  • Work closely with conference production and marketing colleagues to develop a strong understanding of event programmes, themes and audience profiles.
  • Produce regular campaign reports and forecasts, monitoring performance and using insights to optimise future activity and share optimisations.
  • Research and engage prospective delegates, clearly communicating the value of our events and supporting new registrations.
  • Collaborate with the wider FT Specialist marketing team and colleagues across the FT to maximise high-quality audience reach.
  • Ensure marketing activity supports the wider FT brand proposition and delivers consistent, integrated messaging across channels.

Required Skills / Experience

  • Experience handling multiple projects or campaigns simultaneously, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, organised approach, with the initiative to work independently and partner effectively with collaborators across different teams and levels of seniority.
  • Strong written communication and copywriting skills, including experience creating effective email marketing content.
  • Excellent attention to detail across both written and numerical work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging audiences and external partners through email, telephone, virtual and face-to-face channels.
  • A practical, data-informed approach to campaign reporting, analysis and optimisation.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, including confidence working with formulas, charts and graphs.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels such as social media, websites or CMS platforms and email delivery tools.
  • Approximately 1–2 years of relevant marketing, events, audience development or related experience, or equivalent transferable experience.
