The Role
MandateWire, an FT Specialist subscription business, is seeking a Reporter to join its London-based team. This role focuses on covering institutional asset owners in Italy and France, reporting on their investment activities through interviews and research. The successful candidate will contribute to original news content and actionable intelligence for our investment management subscribers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct telephone interviews with senior decision‑makers at pension funds, family offices, charities, insurers and other asset owners based in Italy and France
- Create original English‑language news stories based on these interviews and secondary research (e.g., annual reports)
- Cover key topics such as mandate tenders, manager selection and terminations, asset allocation changes and consultant appointments
- Enter investment mandate intelligence into our internal database
- Deliver a set number of mandate opportunities for daily email briefings
- Maintain and grow a network of investor contacts
- Contribute to broader editorial content and thematic industry analysis
Required Skills and Experience
- Excellent and professional telephone manner
- Fluent in Italian and French, with strong communication skills
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills to meet daily and periodic deadlines
- Analytical abilities to assess complex data and identify relevant material
- Digital literacy for research, writing and data entry
- Familiarity with investment or financial services terminology
- Experience conducting interviews with senior professionals
