A growing and well-established business is looking to recruit a
Part-Time Accounts & Admin Assistant to join its busy finance team.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across different areas of finance and administration.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the purchase and sales ledgers, processing invoices, completing reconciliations, assisting with supplier payments and credit control.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the internal automated purchase ledger system and liaise with suppliers to obtain regular statements and any outstanding invoices.
- Process supplier and courier invoices, ensuring accurate nominal coding, tax codes, departmental allocation and matching against purchase orders.
- Match proof of delivery documentation to invoices and raise or resolve invoice disputes where required.
- Post daily bank transactions and complete regular bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile customer and supplier ledgers in preparation for supplier payment runs and customer statement production.
- Carry out credit control activities, monitoring outstanding sales invoices and following up overdue accounts promptly.
- Prepare weekly and monthly supplier payment runs, issue remittance advices and resolve supplier queries and disputes.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records and filing systems.
- Assist in Completing VAT filings in
Norway, Australia and New Zealand , and prepare VAT reports for the Netherlands.
- Liaise with other departments and the Netherlands branch to resolve accounting queries and ensure information is accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to invoiced or missing items.
- Monitor shared accounts inboxes, maintain the internal email filing system and communicate professionally with suppliers and customers.
- Work closely with the Returns department to ensure supplier credit notes are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Answer incoming calls to the Accounts department and deal with queries in a professional and helpful manner.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.
This is a part-time role fully based in the office, which can offer flexible working times.
