The FRC’s Audit and Assurance Policy team is responsible for setting auditing and ethical standards for UK audits and issuing guidance to support their implementation. The use of technology, including AI, in audit and assurance has the potential to enhance quality and promote growth in the UK economy. The Audit Technology Policy Specialist will support a range of initiatives to promote the appropriate use of technology in audit.

Job Description Accountabilities:

  • Supporting the Head of Assurance Technology in drafting guidance on the application of technology in audit, including practical illustrative examples, and influencing international standard setting boards.
  • Engaging with audit firms, third party technology providers, UK regulators and international standard setters to obtain insights and support technology adoption.
  • Helping standard setting in the UK in response to evolving technology.
  • Influencing and supporting international standard setters (in audit, assurance and ethics) in their standard setting and guidance in this area.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure a consistent FRC approach to technology in audit.
  • Building and maintaining professional expertise and network.
