About Us: The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that plays a vital role in UK financial services. Every day we help resolve disputes between consumers or small businesses and their financial service providers.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the gathering of requirements and development of reporting is achieved working in a collaborative way with key stakeholders so it can be delivered quickly, accurately and in an easy-to-use way.
What You’ll Do: Our Business Intelligence Lead is responsible for all reporting that is delivered across the organisation including our casework teams, finance and HR. You will be taking on this role for a critical period in the organisation, as we develop our reporting strategy and look to make use of additional tools and technology. Your team leadership and technical expertise will be critical. You’ll develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure that the organisation has access to the information it needs in order to make decisions. You’ll be responsible for the best use of our business intelligence software and working closely with the head of Business Analysis and insight in our strategic thinking on what reporting requirements we may need for the future.
To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the skills and capabilities. You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria:
- You will have experience working with business intelligence software, and have direct experience of the software development life cycle as well as excellent technical knowledge and practical knowledge of providing business reporting.
- Demonstrable experience of managing a team including giving feedback, coaching and developing team members as well as helping to prioritise work.
- Ability to communicate complex data to different stakeholder groups, including senior leadership.
- A strong track record of project management as well as identifying and implementing system and process improvements.
- Strong experience in Power BI, SQL and Microsoft Azure Data platform.
