About the role

You’ll be a key part of our HR team, acting as a subject‑matter expert in areas such as leavers, family‑friendly policies, and sickness absence, while managing a number of HR coordinators. You’ll provide first‑line support to staff and stakeholders, handling a range of queries and ensuring operational tasks are delivered accurately and efficiently. Working closely with teams across HR, you will keep guidance up to date and maintain a smooth, joined‑up service. You will identify improvements, coach colleagues, and help resolve more complex issues or complaints. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining quality—meeting targets, using feedback, and making sure we get things right the first time—while building strong relationships across HR and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject‑matter expert in HR areas such as leavers, family‑friendly policies, and sickness absence
  • Manage a team of HR coordinators
  • Provide first‑line support to staff and stakeholders, handling a range of queries
  • Ensure operational tasks are delivered accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with HR teams to keep guidance up to date and maintain smooth service delivery
  • Identify process improvements, coach colleagues, and handle complex issues or complaints
  • Maintain quality and meet targets, using feedback to improve outcomes
  • Build strong relationships across HR and with external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working within a busy HR team, delivering support across multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience using HR systems (e.g. Workday, SAP, or similar) to manage employee data, processes, and reporting
  • Working knowledge of HR policies, processes, and key employment legislation, evidenced through practical application in an HR role
  • Experience managing competing deadlines and prioritising workload effectively, while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word) to support HR activities and communication

  • A CIPD qualification (or a desire to work toward it)
  • Experience working in a customer‑focused environment, managing multiple queries and delivering a high‑quality service

Working Hours
