Product Owner – Financial Ombudsman Service
Working hours: 35 hours per week, full‑time with flexible part‑time options.
Reporting to: Platform Owner.
The hybrid working policy requires at least four days in the office each fortnight.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of future tech‑enabled customer and employee journeys.
- Collaborate with a platform owner to build and mature the roadmap for Digital Front Door and Ombudsman Connect.
- Advocate the value of products, identifying opportunities to support and enable the organisation.
- Build strong relationships with casework teams, enabling functions and technology colleagues (internal and external suppliers).
- Communicate effectively between all parties to ensure deliverables move the organisation forward.
- Understand how applications function and how they drive organisational outcomes.
- Shape and deliver changes that maximise the effectiveness of technology products, ensuring high quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Work with the platform owner to establish a vision for technology products that aligns with strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Available to start in September.
- Demonstrable track record as a digital product owner or significant evidence of contributing to technology changes that support organisational goals, including scoping and refinement stages.
- Experience in a fast‑paced environment across multiple digital/transformation projects, prioritising workload effectively.
- Experience working with other product or platform owners to deliver meaningful product change through both internal and external delivery teams.
- Experience engaging with governance and stakeholders, including senior leadership and technology colleagues.
- Evidence of aligning technology changes with operational challenges to unlock improvements for customers and colleagues.
- Good match with the organisation’s values.
- Ability to adapt communication style to present complex issues simply and engagingly.
- Ideally, a solid understanding of the Financial Ombudsman Service and the work it delivers.
