Contract: Permanent. Salary: Close to ÂŁ65,000 (dependent on experience). Working hours: 35 hours per week, full-time (working pattern agreed with manager). Reporting to: Lead DevOps Engineer.

Location: London Docklands. Our permanent hybrid policy requires staff to work at least four days in the office across a fortnight.

The IT department adopts a “Cloud First” approach to provide the foundation for all IT services. As DevOps Engineer you will use advanced technical knowledge to ensure consistent and automated deployments, deliver continuous improvement in DevOps practices, and manage a variety of projects to maintain system effectiveness and future readiness. Focus areas include security, stability, compliance, and integration with external partners.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps Practices

  • Manage CI/CD pipelines and releases in Azure DevOps, using YAML for pipeline configurations.
  • Automate platform deployments and environment setups with scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Development and Machine Learning/AI teams for seamless integration and delivery.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, telemetry, and alerting solutions to support reliable operations.

Azure Infrastructure Management

  • Assist in design, deployment and management of Azure cloud solutions.
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Bicep and Terraform.
  • Ensure security and compliance by design within Azure environments in partnership with Architecture and Cyber teams.
  • Collaborate with Development, Cyber and Infrastructure teams for smooth delivery and resilience of application platforms.
  • Support deployment and release of solution‑aware components such as Power Platform solutions, cloud flows, Power Pages, and connectors.

Platform Operations

  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across application and integration layers, escalating where necessary.
  • Maintain environmental parity across development, test and production systems.
  • Manage cloud‑hosted environments across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, SharePoint and Azure.
  • Enable and support rollout of new platform services such as CoPilot.
  • Document infrastructure configurations and procedures, maintaining documentation as solutions move to production.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Applications and Data teams to support business operations.
  • Monitor and maintain overall IT infrastructure health as part of the wider team.

Minimum Criteria

  • Strong recent understanding of Azure cloud platforms computing and DevOps practices.
  • In‑depth knowledge of generalised cloud best practices, focused on Microsoft Azure DevOps and its offerings.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online or Power Platform.
  • Proven experience with Azure DevOps including CI/CD pipelines, repos and release automation.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, YAML, Azure CLI).
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM templates).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and telemetry tools such as Application Insights and Log Analytics.
  • Understanding of cloud governance processes and best practices.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication skills, with experience of dealing with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well within teams, both your own and those in other technical, project and business areas.
