Join the Financial Ombudsman Service’s Business Operations team where you will contribute to protecting the organisation’s people, operations and reputation while completing a 15‑month apprenticeship with the potential for a permanent role.

Contract & Location

  • 15‑month Fixed‑Term contract (apprenticeship) with a permanent position offered upon successful completion.
  • 35 hours per week, full time.
  • Hybrid working – at least 4 days per fortnight in the Office, London, Exchange Tower.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first‑line customer support on email, phone and in person, ensuring policy and process adherence.
  • Process operational tasks for customers throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Manage your own workload and support team success.
  • Identify areas of concern and suggest process improvements.
  • Take ownership of personal development, building HR knowledge to pass the apprenticeship qualification.
  • Use organisational systems and processes in line with policies.

Minimum Criteria

  • 5 GCSEs grades A–C (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
  • Not in full‑time education or receiving funding for other learning programmes during the apprenticeship.
  • UK Right to Work for the entirety of the apprenticeship and residency in the UK for 3 years prior to start.
  • Interest in Business Operations / Health and Safety.
