As our Head of Underwriting, you’ll be a key senior leader, driving profitable growth, strengthening broker and client relationships, and ensuring regulatory excellence.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on strategy, risk management, and delivering performance-driven results, all while leading a dedicated team and contributing to the wider business vision.

What You\’ll Be Doing:

• ✔️ Drive Strategy: Define and execute underwriting strategies that balance growth, profitability, and risk appetite.
• ✔️ Lead the Team: Motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team of underwriting professionals while creating a positive and inclusive working environment.
• ✔️ Shape the Portfolio: Oversee and refine underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and product innovation, ensuring compliance and competitiveness.
• ✔️ Collaborate & Innovate: Work with brokers, clients, and cross-functional teams to strengthen relationships while introducing cutting-edge technology and digital tools to optimise processes.
• ✔️ Governance & Compliance: Ensure all underwriting activities align with FCA regulations and company policies, safeguarding our reputation and embedding a strong culture of risk management.

What We’re Looking For:

• A proven leader in General Insurance underwriting with experience across multiple product lines (e.g., Motor, Home, Liability, or Specialty).
• Strong technical expertise in underwriting strategy, portfolio management, reinsurance, compliance, and governance.
• Someone with an innovative mindset who has led initiatives in technology transformation or digital tools in underwriting.
• Holds a Diploma in Insurance (Dip CII) (Advanced Diploma or Specialist Certificates are a bonus!).
• A collaborative, strategic professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and brings exceptional communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.

The salary for this role is £85k+ which is negotiable depending on experience.
