About Financial Innovation for Impact
Financial Innovation for Impact (Fii) is an international, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the advancement of scalable, sustainable, and evidence-based financial and regulatory innovation. We work with academic institutions, digital finance ecosystem partners, and other stakeholders to create knowledge and apply data-driven insights to inform the development of fintech and the decision-making of central banks, securities regulators, and other financial authorities. Fii generates research, develops digital tools, and delivers capacity building at scale through technical assistance programmes to benefit financially excluded, marginalised, and disadvantaged populations.
The scope
Fii is looking to award a short-term part-time contract to an experienced Learning Designer to support the Capacity Building and Education (CB&E) team in delivering an innovative and differentiated learning design for a new executive education course. The course, developed in partnership with the Gates Foundation, is targeting the financial regulatory ecosystem. Delivery will be exclusively online and designed to be market-leading, highly engaging, and responsive to both learner and funder needs. The Learning Designer will lead the creative development of the course, grounding the design in the needs of learners and clients while drawing on the academic expertise of subject matter experts. Working collaboratively within cross-functional teams—including clients, experts, and the CB&E team—the successful candidate will shape a compelling, high-impact learning experience that integrates cutting-edge methods, technologies, and delivery models. This role requires a specialist with a strong track record in innovative learning design, someone who embraces unconventional thinking and brings fresh pedagogical insights.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing a comprehensive learning experience for the new course.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to define effective learning outcomes aligned with course goals.
- Leading on learning quality, methodology, and the integration of new learning technologies including platforms such as Moodle and tools like Canva and H5P.
- Contributing as an active member of cross-functional teams throughout the course development process.
- Bringing global best practices and insights from areas such as the future of learning, neuroscience, and educational innovation to inform strategy.
- Producing a detailed learning design blueprint to guide future course development within the CB&E team.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in developing learning outcomes based on overall course objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering comprehensive learning experience using Bloom’s taxonomy ideally in online or hybrid formats.
- In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles, quality standards, and the use of educational technologies, including platforms like Moodle and content creation tools such as Canva and H5P.
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to support all stages of course development.
- Skilled in creating comprehensive learning design documents that support consistent and scalable course creation within organizational teams.
- Familiarity with international best practices and innovations in education.
Desirable:
- Familiar with the creation of process blueprints to support consistent operationalisation of new course development in an organisation.
- Familiarity with digital finance.
