This is a role for an experienced Paraplanner who enjoys the technical depth of financial planning but also wants a genuine, structured pathway into becoming a Financial Adviser. The business is a directly authorised, FCA-regulated financial planning firm in London, delivering highly bespoke, holistic advice across complex client situations. The focus is on proper financial planning, not product-led sales, with a strong emphasis on understanding clients in depth and building long-term, meaningful relationships.
This opportunity has been created for a Paraplanner to work directly alongside an adviser, supporting high-quality financial planning for a portfolio of established clients, with a clear route to taking on those clients over time in an adviser capacity.
The Opportunity
You will join a close-knit planning team supporting a Chartered Financial Planner, alongside a financial planning administrator and relationship manager. You will play a central role in building detailed, technical financial plans while developing the experience and confidence needed to progress into an adviser role. This is a genuinely varied position where you can stay close to complex financial planning work while gradually stepping into client-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing detailed research, analysis and financial planning recommendations
- Building complex cashflow models to support long-term client strategy
- Writing high-quality suitability reports and technical planning documents
- Supporting holistic financial planning across pensions, investments, tax, and estate planning
- Attending client meetings with the adviser and gradually increasing client exposure
- Working closely with the adviser on complex planning cases
- Supporting specialist areas including family law financial planning and trust-related work
- Ensuring all recommendations are technically robust and clearly communicated
About You
You will ideally be:
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status
- Technically strong, with a genuine interest in complex financial planning
- Comfortable building detailed financial analysis and cashflow models
- Confident working closely with advisers and clients
- Ambitious, with a clear desire to progress from Paraplanner into a Financial Adviser role
