An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paraplanner to join a highly respected Chartered Financial Services firm based in the City of London. This is a challenging and technically focused role working closely with a highly experienced Financial Adviser who has an established client bank of approximately £80m AUM, including a significant proportion of high-net-worth clients. The client base is primarily focused on pensions, investments and protection, with an average client size of around £800k.
This role would suit a highly organised, self-motivated and technically strong Paraplanner who is confident managing end-to-end cases and working closely with advisers and clients in a fast-paced, professional environment.
The Opportunity
You will work directly with an established Financial Adviser, taking responsibility for full paraplanning and case management from initial fact-find through to implementation and ongoing review work. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Writing suitability reports for new business and annual client reviews
- Conducting product, fund and platform research using tools such as FE Analytics, Defaqto and Select a Pension
- Liaising with product providers to obtain policy information and ensure smooth case progression
- Managing and maintaining accurate records of pipeline, submitted and ongoing business
- Taking ownership of cases from initial client agreement through to final implementation
- Working with compliance and business quality teams to ensure cases are approved and compliant
- Producing client valuations and review documentation in a timely manner
- Coordinating and managing annual client review processes
- Working closely with administration teams to deliver full end-to-end client servicing
- Updating and maintaining accurate records on back-office systems (Gateway)
- Submitting new business across provider and internal systems
- Monitoring trail commission and ensuring accurate fee reconciliation
- Handling client invoicing for new and ongoing advisory fees
- Processing fund switches and policy servicing instructions
- Supporting general administrative and technical duties as required
Requirements
- Diploma qualified (Level 4) in Regulated Financial Planning (essential)
- Previous experience within a Financial Planning or IFA paraplanning role
- Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and protection
- Experience writing suitability reports independently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Confident working directly with advisers, clients and providers
- Ideally working towards Chartered status or with long-term ambition to do so
