I'm currently working with a highly successful, growing independent financial planning firm in London that is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the business. This is a broad and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes, leading people and ensuring the business operates efficiently while maintaining the highest regulatory standards.
The Role
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business
- Manage finance and operational processes, including payroll, reconciliations and management reporting
- Ensure the business remains compliant with FCA and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with external compliance and accounting partners
- Lead HR activities including recruitment, annual reviews and staff development
- Manage and improve operational systems, technology and business processes
- Coordinate board meetings, business planning and company administration
- Oversee third-party suppliers, IT and office operations
- Chair internal operational and governance meetings
- Produce management information (MI) to support business decisions
- Support business growth through operational improvements and strategic initiatives
About You
- 5+ years' experience in an Operations Manager, Practice Manager or Senior Administration role within a regulated financial services business
- Strong understanding of FCA regulation and financial planning operations
- Experience managing and developing teams
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working with operational systems and advanced Excel
- Professional qualifications such as the Level 4 Diploma, PRINCE2 or an accounting qualification would be advantageous but are not essential
