Our client, a well-established engineering consultancy based in Birmingham, is looking to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting structural surveys on schools and various other buildings, as well as undertaking structural design work for a variety of exciting projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with substantial knowledge and experience in structural engineering to make a real impact within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural surveys of buildings, including schools and other public and private structures.
- Provide structural design expertise, producing high-quality design solutions.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects run smoothly and meet all technical and regulatory requirements.
- Manage your own diary, with flexibility to work from the office, home, or on-site.
- Provide technical leadership and support to junior engineers as needed.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Extensive experience in structural engineering, with a strong background in surveys and design work.
- Proficiency in using relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Structural Design Packages).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with a high degree of autonomy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
Desirable:
- Chartered status (MICE, MIStructE, or CEng) is highly advantageous but not essential.
- Candidates without chartership, but with thorough knowledge and extensive experience, will be considered.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid working model: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home or on-site.
- Flexible diary management, allowing you to manage your own schedule.
Salary & Benefits:
