Salary: £26,000 per year

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours per week)

We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our Research & Development team in Swinton. This role is vital to ensuring our products are released with impeccable quality and consistency. It is an excellent opportunity for a science graduate or experienced laboratory professional looking to develop within a growing R&D function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Nicotine Analysis to ensure finished products are within tolerance levels
  • Conduct Carbonyl Emissions Testing on aerosol using HPLC
  • Provide analytical support for flavour creation projects
  • Perform incoming goods analysis, including quality control checks and laboratory testing against supplier specifications
  • Assist with investigations into non-conformance issues
  • Support preparation of Certificates of Analysis
  • Maintain laboratory stock, including flavour concentrates and consumables
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of flavour ingredients and compositions
  • Collaborate with QC, Production and Regulatory departments
  • Support ISO, BRC and GMP audits

About You

  • Minimum BSc in a scientific discipline or three years relevant laboratory experience
  • Experience using HPLC and GC instrumentation
  • Knowledge of chromatographic techniques (HPLC/UPLC/GC)
  • Familiarity with spectroscopic techniques (FT-IR, UV-Vis)
  • Experience using Chemstation, Masshunter or Chromeleon
  • Good computer literacy and knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)

Desirable

  • Experience in method development and validation
  • Knowledge of TPD regulations
