Manual Lathe Machinist/CNC in Leeds

Overview

CareerMakers Recruitment are seeking a manual/CNC lathe machinist for our client based in Leeds, LS13.

Responsibilities

• Proving out new programs and setting and operating CNC machinery for both large and small batch work.
• Working with various materials.
• Communicating effectively across all departments and functions.
• Working on more than one machine within the machine shop when required.
• Machine cleaning and maintenance.
• Reading engineering drawings.
• Working to a high standard, with tight tolerances and excellent attention to detail.
• Using measurement/inspection equipment including verniers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.
• Working within company quality procedures to ensure precision and compliance.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to demonstrate and practice common sense. Showing initiative and forward thinking.
• Ability to work to high standards with attention to detail.
• Experience in setting and operating CNC lathes and manual turning processes.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and interpreting tolerances.
• Proven ability to work across a multi-machine environment.
• Awareness of machine cleaning and maintenance responsibilities.

Working hours

Mon Tue 7:30am – 4:00pm; Wed Thu 7:30am – 4:30pm; Fri 7:30am – 1:30pm.

Salary

From £28,000 per annum.
