Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £47,000 £55,000 (depending on experience) + excellent benefits
Join a Leading Manufacturing & Engineering Team
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Supervisor to lead our team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers at our busy FMCG manufacturing facility in Middlewich.
In this leadership role, youll oversee planned preventative maintenance, manage engineering breakdowns, and ensure our production lines and site services run at peak efficiency in a 24/7 environment.
Youll be key to minimising downtime, improving asset performance, and driving continuous improvement all while keeping safety and compliance at the forefront.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers.
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond effectively to unplanned breakdowns.
- Manage site services including boilers, compressors, HVAC, LEV systems.
- Ensure compliance with GMP standards, Health & Safety legislation, and engineering best practices.
- Use CMMS (Shire) to schedule, track, and report maintenance activity.
- Liaise with contractors, manage permits, and oversee service contracts.
- Support machinery installation, commissioning, and decommissioning.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement engineering solutions to prevent repeat faults.
- Champion continuous improvement to boost production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Deputise for the Site Manager when required.
What Were Looking For
- Proven engineering leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally FMCG or other regulated industries.
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Competent with Microsoft Office, mobile devices, and CMMS systems.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and planning abilities.
- Health & Safety mindset with commitment to safe systems of work.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
- CMMS planning experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
- BOAS or boiler operator qualification.
- Knowledge of DSEAR compliance.
