Salary – National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £52,400 to £71,200 and London from £57,700 to £78,300 (salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

The Specialist Intelligence Department is at the heart of the FCA’s efforts to prevent harm. We support all areas of the FCA with insight and information to help deliver the FCA agenda – especially around reducing and preventing serious harm and fighting financial crime.
We work with a range of UK and overseas partners as part of an eco-system to tackle issues such serious and organised crime which require a joined-up approach from regulators; business; government and the public.
Staff in Specialist Intelligence come from a wide range of backgrounds and have a variety of specialist skills and techniques. The work is hugely varied and fast paced and must be done to a tight set of security guidelines.
What will you be doing?
- Conducting proactive, all-source intelligence analysis to identify threats to the UK financial services sector from serious and organised crime
- Leading the delivery of intelligence outputs to internal and external stakeholders, managing complex casework focused on entities or individuals that pose risks to consumer protection and market integrity
- Identifying opportunities to further develop intelligence, drawing on insights generated across the Specialist Intelligence Department and the wider FCA
- Researching, producing, and distributing intelligence products including profiles, reports and assessments while ensuring appropriate handling and dissemination of sensitive information
- Collaborating with teams across the Specialist Intelligence Department to access and apply sensitive intelligence sources, enhancing understanding of economic crime threats within UK financial services
- Contributing to a culture of innovation by sharing ideas, refining analytical techniques, peer reviewing work and actively supporting team collaboration
- Exposure to a wide range of stakeholders who are working to counter the threat from serious and organised crime

Minimum
- Experience of managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of conducting all-source intelligence analysis, drawing evidence-based conclusions
- Experience of proactively identifying and developing intelligence-led cases, contributing to 4P (Prevent, Pursue, Protect, Prepare) activity within the wider economic crime landscape
- Experienced in assessing economic crime threats and producing tactical intelligence products specific to this domain
- Skilled in managing complex tasks and clearly presenting analytical findings through written and verbal intelligence outputs.
- Proficient in securely handling and sharing sensitive intelligence using appropriate systems and tools
- Strong IT skills, including i2 Analyst’s Notebook, EIA, Microsoft Office, OSINT and SOCMINT
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to the specific role including the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA), Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (CPIA), Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA etc.) and financial services sector and/or UK Economic Crime landscape, the National Intelligence Model, gateways and information sharing processes
- Familiar with or willing to obtain, Intelligence Professionalisation Programme Certification at Analyst or Senior Analyst level
