Overview
In this role you will conduct strategic analysis of financial crime threats to support senior decision-makers. You will contextualise diverse intelligence sources, identify emerging risks, and produce strategic assessments for internal and external audiences. The role supports cross‑functional work to enhance threat understanding and inform prioritisation. You will contribute to the FCA’s objective to prevent financial crime and protect market integrity, in a team shaping intelligence-led decisions.

Responsibilities
- Conduct strategic analysis of internal and external threats to support informed decision‑making for FCA seniors
- Contextualise and summarise diverse intelligence sources for analysis
- Identify emerging threats to guide strategic and tactical prioritisation
- Develop and deliver strategic assessments and intelligence reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Generate and gather all‑source intelligence on financial crime threats (money laundering, fraud, AI, digital assets, sanctions evasion) affecting UK financial services
- Create high‑quality analytical products tailored to diverse audiences and formats
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance threat understanding and share methodologies
- Build and maintain proactive relationships with the analytical community and explore multi‑agency threat assessments
Key requirements
- Minimum SC clearance (DV clearance advantageous)
- Experience analysing complex intelligence from diverse sources and producing strategic intelligence assessments
- Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Essential: strong written and verbal communication, proficient in Microsoft packages
- Understanding of the digital assets sector and relevant economic crime threats
- Ability to deliver analytical insights across grades
- Experience working in cross‑functional teams to deliver intelligence‑led projects
- Knowledge of UK economic crime landscape and national priorities
- Knowledge of National Intelligence Model principles and intelligence sharing frameworks
- Understanding of UK government, law enforcement, regulatory and private sector structures
- Understanding of PHIA Common Analytical Standards
