In this role, you will lead the WUBI division within the FCA to develop and deliver the Enforcement strategy, ensuring high-quality investigations and impactful outcomes. You will join the senior leadership team during a period of transformation, driving cross‑organisational collaboration to disrupt harm and fight financial crime. Your work supports regulatory and criminal actions across investigations, civil proceedings, and related intelligence activities. This is an opportunity to shape strategy, mentor diverse teams, and influence how the FCA strengthens markets and protects consumers.

Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction for the department in collaboration with other Enforcement HoDs
- Lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary investigations team
- Coaching, negotiating, and influencing with internal and external stakeholders to drive high performance
- Manage a complex portfolio of investigations with tight timeframes and clear outcomes (criminal, regulatory, civil)
- Collaborate across the FCA to disrupt harm early, especially in financial crime
- Oversee divisional budget and resource decisions as part of the senior leadership team
- Support cross-divisional work on Enforcement and Market Oversight and contribute to the Division’s wider responsibilities
Key requirements
- Clear track record of delivering results against business priorities
- Strong understanding of the UK regulatory framework and FCA’s powers/policies on investigations and enforcement
- Significant people management and ability to lead large teams
- Extensive experience overseeing complex investigations with operational discipline
- Senior stakeholder management across internal and external partners
- Ability to implement change, drive efficiency, and deliver value and innovation
- Ability to manage demanding situations and make practical decisions quickly
- Budget management and experience handling external resources
- Understanding how intelligence supports crime prevention and response
- Willingness to travel between London, Leeds, and Edinburgh as required
